Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE Thai food. A good Thai curry or fried rice would brighten up the gloomiest of days for me; the sun would shine brighter, the skies will be bluer, and there'll be rainbows and birds chirping. LOL....back to reality.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city is Tue Thai. It's a cozy little spot in the West Village where the staff is friendly and the food is delicious.
Let's see.......what would I recommend you to eat???
All of the appetizers are good, so feel free, to go crazy. I like to go with friends and order about three or four things so we can have a good variety over some juicy conversation. But if you only want one, go for the Crab Ragoon. OoooOooh. It's crab meat, Italian cream cheese, and spices wrapped in house skin served with a sweet chilli sauce. You won't be able to get enough of it. Seriously, I'm trying to teach myself how to make it at home so I don't go broke ordering them from Tue Thai every week!
Entrees.....
Thai curry is always good. The green curry is delicious and although I'm a born Guyanese, I don't favor pepper as much as my kinfolk so it was a little spicy but bearable enough for me to enjoy it. And you can have your curry with anything from chicken, pork, beef or shrimp, to tofu, or imitation duck!!
(my mouth is watering just writing about it, ugh...)
I also really like the Tamarind Sesame Chicken for nights when I'm feeling chill. It's sweet and crispy breaded chicken served with bok choy and white rice.
Yummmmmm
When I was in Thailand, no matter what I ordered to eat, it had a boatload of pepper in it. So much so, that I couldn't even taste the food sometimes. At Tue Thai, the pepper adds just a kick of flavor and spice which is good for me. But if you do experience anything too hot for your taste buds, you can always wash it down with a delicious, authentic refreshing Thai iced tea.
